MARCH 29 2022 / PEST AND TERMITE
Spring is here and the weather is finally improving. However, clover mites, termites, and other pest love this weather and are soon to come out in full force.
This is a high pest pressure season for homeowners in Maryland, DC, and Virginia so we decided to put together a fun little graphic. This should give you an idea of what you should be expecting from each of these pests, and how you can prepare for them.
If you are not protected by American Pest, be prepared to see tiny red bugs on concrete, termites swarming, and different types of ants marching around your home.
These tiny pest problems may start in the spring, however, they will keep marching around your home as long as they have food, water, and shelter.
Odorous house ants, in particular, seem to be extremely frustrating this year, so be sure to contact a professional if you discover ants in the house.
Subterranean termites are found around Maryland, Virginia, and DC at all times of the year. However, they are usually underground or deteriorating the foundation of your home and aren’t visible.
The spring, however, is when termites with wings choose to show their faces as they attempt to expand their colony. If you discover a termite swarm, it is extremely important to contact pest professionals who can eliminate the colony.
Many people love seeing the birds in the spring. That is until they start nesting around businesses and around a home. Try placing mesh over their common nesting spots to prevent the chances of them leaving an unsightly mess!
While these tiny red insects are even smaller than ants, they come in mass numbers and are extremely frustrating to homeowners when they get indoors.
So don’t hesitate to let us know clover mites are congregating around your home.
As you can see, we’re expecting a lot of activity from these pests this Spring. Each year is different but every year we seem to get a lot of calls related to ants, termites, and more.
If you are tired of ant trails through your kitchen, termite swarms, or tiny red bugs crawling all over your house, be sure to give the pest professionals here at American Pest a call!
